Tony Bernard had a dream, and that dream was to cycle to France! In the first place we mocked his dream, but unperturbed he carried on and true to form the "Road to Bayeux" was born.
The Steve Bernard Foundation is delighted to announce that next June we will be undertaking one of our most ambitious fundraisers to date. The ride will take us to Bayeux, just a few kilometres from the Normandy coastline and home to the world famous Bayeux Tapestry. We have succesfully recruited a fleet of support vehicles who will transport our camping equipment. Also Primera Sports have graciously donated the services of a bike mechanic for the trip, just in case we have any mishaps!
Whilst this is undoubtedly quite some undertaking, the coastal ride of approximately 180 miles should be well within most people's capabilities. It costs only £100 to take part and what's more this will be refunded if you raise £500 in sponsorship money! Entries must be received by the end of March 2009.
