The inaugural Steve Bernard Challenge Trophy match was a hotly contested affair between two of Steve's former teams. The match took place on the 29th July at Church Road in Chichester.
The match will now serve as an annual pre-season opener for both teams and it was evident the strength of feeling held by all those involved. The match itself was decided by a last minute 20 yard strike, scored by Chichester player Lewis Fennymore.
Chichester captain, Alex Ward became the first player to pick up the impressive trophy from Steve's dad Tony Bernard. Tony and Jacques and all those involved with the foundation would like to express their thanks to all those who made the day possible and continue to support the foundation in all it does.
